NEW YEAR SNOW
New year, new snow run. This time we had Clinton (@that1_t40r, formerly @amg_t4r) lead the pack up to Sterling Lake. Our pack consisted of us PURE folks, the MingLo Boys, and some new friends from the bay. Upon reaching the trailhead to Sterling we were greeted with a challenging start. The storms from December and early January have died out and bright sunshine has been radiating since, thus causing all the snow to be extremely icy and solid.
After about an hour of trying, the group rerouted to good ol’ Eagle Lakes. Conditions were a tad bit better, but still difficult to plow through. We encountered a good amount of rigs stuck throughout the trail, causing delays and forcing the group to cut the day short.
Though not a very successful day out, it was nice seeing and meeting all the new people that grouped with us. It also made us even more anxious and excited for the next ride out. I also had to cut the video for Clinton’s walk-around YouTube feature short, but will be continuing it very soon once our schedules align. Stay tuned for the next trek up!
