Bay Area 4x4 AnniV Meet
Been a minute since my last post! My son being born has lead to so much needed time off, but now it is time to get back into the swing of things. We have a lot planned for PURE 4x4 coming up, so do stay tuned.
Kevin (@kd.six) is one of our prospective PURE 4x4 members in the Bay Area (San Jose to be exact) and has been killing it hosting the “First Friday’s” 4x4 meet ups. Located at the Seafood City Milpitas (South Bay), the meet itself has garnered a ton of attention, attracting trucks from all over the Bay and the Valley. November’s meet officially marks a whole one year since its inception! And even though we were two hours away, the Sacramento crew wanted to come and support.
We arrived at about 8 PM and the lot as already filling up quickly with some solid builds and also two food trucks. By 9 PM the meet was huge and took up most of the lot, causing management to let us know we unfortunately had to vacate. But that didn’t stop anyone; everyone migrated to the Target lot across the street where the full blown truck meet continued.
Anthony (@radproduxions) surprised the rest of the squad by debuting his new bumper additions on his GX460. I really liked the rear swingout and the subtle bumper protection the whole setup provides while still retaining the “Lexus” aesthetic and not going too over the top. Jesus from MZ Fabrication (@mz_4wcustom) did a fantastic job fabricating everything up.
I had a blast catching up with everyone and meeting new folks, and really enjoyed witnessing all the builds out there. It was great seeing the Bay Area 4x4 community really show out! It was also my first time seeing the new Sequoia in the wild (besides Overland Expo) and was able to chop it up with the owners for a bit. I was even pleasantly surprised to see my boy Eman (@chasing.eman) out at the meet who drove all the way from SoCal. Looking forward to many more meets to follow. Hats off to Kevin for the meets you host and for all you do for the 4x4 community. Thank you to Hung (@trd_black_pro) for organizing all of us in Sacramento to caravan to San Jose.
Next up on our agenda: snow wheeling. Who’s down?
